30.26 – Building Safety in the Present Moment: Safety is the foundation of trauma recovery. You can’t heal while feeling threatened. Building safety means creating routines, supportive people, and calming environments that remind your brain it’s okay to relax. This might include setting boundaries, decorating your space for comfort, or keeping grounding tools nearby. Over time, your nervous system learns that peace can last. Safety also grows inside—through self-talk that replaces fear with reassurance. Each moment of calm teaches your body a new normal. When safety becomes familiar, healing naturally follows.
