Lesson Overview

10.48 – Teaching Children What to Do if You’re Unresponsive (continued): Write emergency steps on a visible card near phones or refrigerators. Teach them to stay on the line with dispatchers until help arrives. Explain how to find and share home addresses, medications, and any medical conditions clearly. Make sure they know where flashlights, first aid kits, and keys are kept in emergencies. Praise calmness during practice to build confidence rather than panic. Emphasize that calling for help is brave, not troublesome. If children understand that their actions can protect you, they develop resilience and awareness far beyond their years. Every moment spent preparing them creates safety that continues even when you can’t lead directly. Empowering young minds transforms fear into skill, ensuring that your home becomes a shared circle of readiness where care, communication, and courage truly protect everyone involved.
